Arthritis Diagnosis Linked to Lower Rates of Alcohol Use

Major Finding: Patients with a variety of arthritis types reported a significant, approximately 70% lower prevalence of alcohol use, compared with arthritis-free adults.

Data Source: Drinking habits of almost 1,000 patients enrolled in the Leiden Early Arthritis Cohort were compared with those of more than 5,800 controls without arthritis from the Leiden area.
